Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is a condition where a person can experience an overwhelming emotional response to feeling rejected.

We know that women with ADHD are generally emotionally sensitive and experts tell us that due to the differences in brain structure there is a link between ADHD and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD).

Symptoms of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) may include

You may feel intensely about someone saying no, or feeling like you are being left out.  “It is a condition where a person is extremely sensitive to rejection, both real and perceived,” says Brian Wind, PhD, the Chief Clinical Officer at JourneyPure.

You may also feel rejection and emotional pain from conversations, interactions or comments that most people would deem as being mild.

“My emotional pain can feel so intense that I have described it as feeling physical, the feeling of rejection takes over my whole body and the feelings of worthlessness and sadness overwhelm me, since I have learned about RSD it has changed my life, I am able to reason with my feelings (most of the time) and tell myself that it is my RSD making me feel this way and it will pass soon”  Anonymous Female With ADHD
